Encryption is the process of transforming information into an indiscernible coded message. Information transmitted while accessing school information over the Internet or submitting an online application is encrypted using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) Technology, a state-of-the-art encryption process developed by Netscape Communications Corporation.
This process utilizes a unique mathematical formula or “Key” to encrypt your information. Encryption strength is measured by the length of the “Key” used to encrypt the data. Longer “keys” provide more effective encryption. Browsers generally offer two levels of encryption strength:
